Winifred Haun, 2014-2015 Resident Artist

Winifred Haun is an esteemed choreographer in the professional dance world. As a dancer, Ms. Haun performed professionally as a soloist with Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre from 1985-1991. She founded Winifred Haun & Dancers, her professional company, in 1993. Wini is the 2000 recipient of the distinguished Ruth Page Award for Outstanding Contribution to Dance in Chicago. As a choreographer, she has been commissioned to set work on professional dance companies throughout the Midwest. Ms. Haun has taught dance and dance composition at the Joffrey Ballet's Academy of Dance, Dance Center of Columbia College, and Beijing National Dance Academy as well as numerous festivals and workshops worldwide. Principle Dance Resident Artist
Principle Dance's Resident Artist is a seasoned professional who mentors Advanced Pathway Program students and brings quality professional level dance performances to our families. The artist receives support via rehearsal space and audience development. Pathway students receive mentorship from a role model in the professional dance world and a broader view of ways to craft and observe choreography. This relationship elevates the level of dancing at Principle to new heights. We are thrilled to have Winifred Haun as our current Resident Artist!
