Come develop a working knowledge of dance anatomy to learn about the muscle mechanisms of dance technique, practice strengthening exercises for each muscle group, and work on strategies to prevent injury.
Topics Include: skeletal overview, muscles for turnout and lateral rotation of the leg, flexion/extension muscles in port de bras, muscles for core strengthening and improved flexibility, and intrinsic muscles of the foot.
This course will be taught by our very own, Ms. Shari Klyber, former anatomy teacher at the University of Illinois, Department of Cell and Structural Biology.
